How many times have you heard that the most important thing a parent can do is set a good example? Talk the talk and walk the walk. But it’s hard! So hard…especially when it’s a topic that’s been taboo for as long as many of us can remember. Schedule I drug? Illegal? Gateway drug? How do we suddenly change that? It starts at home. It has to. That’s where the next generation (or two) already views cannabis as not such a big deal, and where we need to reinforce that message.
We are poised on the precipice of this being the time when honesty and courage matters the most. What’s the fastest and most effective way to change the paradigm? Talk about it. Openly. Share with them the truth. Your truth. The truth about the people who have been helped by cannabis. We need to become comfortable admitting to – and consuming in front of – our child…our children…our family & society as a whole.
